Mr. Panda

I’ve been wanting to do video for a while. Go figure that it’s because I saw some photos of a puppet that my cousin created. This was made almost entirely with the iPad 3 and a couple of apps. It would have been nice if I could multiply myself so I can act, do terrible voice overs and shoot the video at the same time.

Jeremy Lin – Linsanity Desktop Wallpaper 1

Yes – I’m still following the Knicks and Linsanity. It’s a very uplifting story which I hope, will have a happy ending. It’s been over 10 years since the Knicks have even been this interesting to watch. To add to the fun, I decided to design this desktop wallpaper. Feel free to download a high res version below. Go Knicks!

Fine Art is Hard Work

Here are 7 artists’ work that I’ve seen recently in various museums and galleries throughout the New York area. I know people often say they can do modern and post modern art. The people listed below are not the stereotypical type. Their paintings and installation pieces all require a great deal of detail and precision.

For example, On Kawara  has been hand painting the dates (you should appreciate this if you’re a graphic designer) of his life since January 4,1966. It’s 2012 now! The series will end when he dies. Tomo Mori cuts out small pieces of canvas, paints them and then creates a new painting with those pieces. Sol Lewitt’s huge wall drawings contain hundreds of connected lines. Some may even consider these artists to have a bit of OCD. Either way, I really like their art work.

The Mini Cooper S Convertible

I’m not really a car person but driving the 2010 Mini Cooper S convertible was a lot of fun. It’s got more acceleration than my Civic. Big surprise huh? The Cooper S is small – really small. I’m not sure why there’s a backseat in there. It really only fits a driver and a passenger. The good thing about it’s size is that parking is not a problem in New York City.

The dashboard is very different than anything I’m used to. It’s got a huge speedometer in the middle of it. I couldn’t find the plug to hook up an MP3 player to it. I probably should have done more research on it. Instead, NPR HOT97, La Mega 97.9 and Z100 filled the air. That was quite a bizarre combination. Heated seats make even a cold day feel warm with the sunroof open.

Since we were driving in a blue Cooper, we had to shoot some photographs. Good excuse to do some photography, huh? We went to a variety of locations – some rich, some run down. They all went well with the car. We saw one house with 4 garages and what appeared to be a Ferrari in the window. I don’t think I’ll be driving one of those soon. I would definitely get the Mini Cooper S if I could. It would probably be for a second car since it’s small. It’s a convertible after all.
